Linux host required
Run an Unturned dedicated server on the Linux PC you already have — NodeMesh installs it, keeps it running and shares a Join Code your friends paste in instead of an address. Unturned is in Beta on NodeMesh, and we haven't run it on our own hardware yet. A Windows host isn't offered yet: Unturned ships a Windows build too, but we don't yet have a safe way to launch it there.
Free on your own PC — one host, no time limit.
Sign up, then paste one command from your dashboard on the PC that will run the server — PowerShell on Windows, a terminal on Linux. The agent installs as a service and pairs with your account.
Choose the game in the panel. NodeMesh downloads the dedicated server, sets it up and starts it, and you watch every step in the live console.
Switch on the traffic relay for the server and the panel gives you a public address. Send it to your friends: their traffic goes through the relay to your PC, so you never open a port on your router.
The memory figures are for the game server alone. If you also play on the same PC, the game itself needs its own memory on top.
Share the Join Code shown on this server's Overview tab. In Unturned, open the server browser, choose Join by Code (or Server Code), and paste it in — no address, and nothing to open on your router.
Unturned's server prints a 17-digit Join Code once it's up, and your friends use it from the in-game server browser's Join by Code option — no address to share, and nothing to open on your router. An optional Steam Game Server Login Token (GSLT), free from your own Steam account, keeps that code stable across restarts and lists your server publicly; without one it's still playable, just anonymous. Direct-IP connect and Workshop mods aren't supported by NodeMesh for this game yet.
One host — your own PC — is free with no time limit, for up to 5 game servers: the web panel and console, the config editor, the mod manager, auto-restart on crash and the traffic relay. Extra hosts cost credits.
See pricing →Beta: you can create this server today, but we have not run it on our own hardware yet. Expect rough edges, and tell us what you find.
Unturned uses a Join Code instead: once your server starts, NodeMesh reads the code it prints, and you share that instead of an IP address. Friends paste it into the game's Join by Code option.
Not yet. Unturned ships a Windows build, but we don't yet have a safe way to launch it on Windows hosts, so this game is Linux-only on NodeMesh for now.
No, but it's recommended — without one, your Join Code changes every time the server restarts and the server stays out of Unturned's own Internet list. A GSLT is free from your own Steam account; paste it into the Config tab and it's never shown back after you save it.
Yes, for one host. Running game servers on your own PC is free with no time limit — up to 5 servers, traffic relay included. You only pay, in credits, if you add more hosts.
We haven't run Unturned on our own hardware yet, even though the catalog template — including the Join Code itself — is ready. We'd rather say that plainly than call something stable before we've checked it ourselves.
