Windows host required
Host your Abiotic Factor world on a Windows PC you already own. NodeMesh installs the dedicated server, keeps it running and relays your friends' connections, so nothing needs opening on your router. We installed and booted it on a real Windows PC; a real player joining through the relay is still on our list, so it stays Beta.
Free on your own PC โ one host, no time limit.
Sign up, then paste one command from your dashboard on the PC that will run the server โ PowerShell on Windows, a terminal on Linux. The agent installs as a service and pairs with your account.
Choose the game in the panel. NodeMesh downloads the dedicated server, sets it up and starts it, and you watch every step in the live console.
Switch on the traffic relay for the server and the panel gives you a public address. Send it to your friends: their traffic goes through the relay to your PC, so you never open a port on your router.
The memory figures are for the game server alone. If you also play on the same PC, the game itself needs its own memory on top.
Abiotic Factor uses UDP on its game port (7777 by default). The relay forwards it to your PC, so you make no changes to your router. We have not seen a real player come in through the relay yet, so if you try it, tell us how it goes.
The Config tab edits the server's sandbox settings file: difficulty, hardcore mode and the rest of the sandbox options. We changed one setting in each section on a real Windows PC and read the same values back from the game's own settings dump. World saves land inside the server folder, not in your Windows user profile. The game has no remote console, so a plain Stop can lose progress since its last autosave.
One host โ your own PC โ is free with no time limit, for up to 5 game servers: the web panel and console, the config editor, the mod manager, auto-restart on crash and the traffic relay. Extra hosts cost credits.
See pricing โBeta: this game runs on NodeMesh today, but our full hardware test of it is not finished yet. We would rather say so than call it stable.
No. The dedicated server is a free download on Steam. NodeMesh fetches it for you anonymously, so no Steam login is stored on your PC. Your friends still need the game to play.
No. In NodeMesh the Abiotic Factor server runs on Windows hosts only, so you need a Windows PC as the host.
Yes. The Config tab covers the sandbox options and a few launch options such as the world save name and a PC-only limit for crossplay. Changes apply on the next start.
Not through NodeMesh. The game's Workshop refuses anonymous downloads, so there is no Mods tab for Abiotic Factor yet.
Yes, for one host. Running game servers on your own PC is free with no time limit โ up to 5 servers, traffic relay included. You only pay, in credits, if you add more hosts.
