Free ARK: Survival Ascended dedicated server on your own PC

Host your ASA map on a Windows PC you already own. NodeMesh installs the dedicated server, keeps it running and relays your friends' connections, so nothing needs opening on your router. We ran it on a real Windows PC, including a two-map cluster created in the panel; a real player joining through the relay is still on our list, so it stays Beta.

Free on your own PC — one host, no time limit.

How it works on your PC

1

Install the agent

Sign up, then paste one command from your dashboard on the PC that will run the server — PowerShell on Windows, a terminal on Linux. The agent installs as a service and pairs with your account.

2

Pick the game

Choose the game in the panel. NodeMesh downloads the dedicated server, sets it up and starts it, and you watch every step in the live console.

3

Share the address

Switch on the traffic relay for the server and the panel gives you a public address. Send it to your friends: their traffic goes through the relay to your PC, so you never open a port on your router.

What your PC needs

Memory for the server (minimum)12 GB
Memory for the server (recommended)16 GB
WindowsSupported
LinuxNot supported

The memory figures are for the game server alone. If you also play on the same PC, the game itself needs its own memory on top.

Friends join without port forwarding

ARK: Survival Ascended uses UDP for its game and query ports. NodeMesh relays them to your PC, so you make no changes to your router. Share the address the panel shows. We have not seen a real player come in through the relay yet, so if you try it, tell us how it goes.

Mods

Add CurseForge mods on the Mods tab by Project ID: paste the number from the mod's About Project panel, not its link (a link is refused with a hint). The server downloads and loads the mod itself on the next start. Remove an ID and the next start is vanilla again; if you edit the list in the Config tab by hand, the Mods tab follows.

What is free

One host — your own PC — is free with no time limit, for up to 5 game servers: the web panel and console, the config editor, the mod manager, auto-restart on crash and the traffic relay. Extra hosts cost credits.

Beta: this game runs on NodeMesh today, but our full hardware test of it is not finished yet. We would rather say so than call it stable.

Questions

How much memory does ASA need?

A lot; see the requirements above, which are for the server alone. If you also play on the same PC, the game needs its own memory on top.

Does it run on Linux?

No. The ARK: Survival Ascended dedicated server is Windows-only, so you need a Windows host. For Linux hosts NodeMesh offers ARK: Survival Evolved, which is a different game.

Can I run several maps as a cluster?

Yes. Create the servers, group them into a cluster in the panel and NodeMesh sets the shared cluster options on each one. We created a two-map cluster this way on a real Windows PC.

Can I change rates and settings?

Yes. The Config tab explains each multiplier in plain language and writes the server's own ini files; we saved a taming speed and a difficulty value and read the same numbers back from the file. Our settings guide and the ARK calculators linked on this page cover the maths.

Is it really free?

Yes, for one host. Running game servers on your own PC is free with no time limit — up to 5 servers, traffic relay included. You only pay, in credits, if you add more hosts.
