Free Hytale dedicated server on your own PC

Host a Hytale world for friends on hardware you already own. NodeMesh runs the server with the right Java, keeps it running and relays your friends' connections, so there is nothing to open on your router. It needs a Linux host.

Free on your own PC — one host, no time limit.

How it works on your PC

1

Install the agent

Sign up, then paste one command from your dashboard on the PC that will run the server — PowerShell on Windows, a terminal on Linux. The agent installs as a service and pairs with your account.

2

Pick the game

Choose the game in the panel. NodeMesh downloads the dedicated server, sets it up and starts it, and you watch every step in the live console.

3

Share the address

Switch on the traffic relay for the server and the panel gives you a public address. Send it to your friends: their traffic goes through the relay to your PC, so you never open a port on your router.

What your PC needs

Memory for the server (minimum)4 GB
Memory for the server (recommended)8 GB
WindowsNot supported
LinuxSupported

The memory figures are for the game server alone. If you also play on the same PC, the game itself needs its own memory on top.

Friends join without port forwarding

Hytale uses UDP on port 5520 by default. The relay forwards it to your PC, so you make no changes to your router. In the game, open the multiplayer server list, add a server with the address the panel gives you and join.

Good to know

Hytale is in Early Access and its server files cannot be fetched anonymously. You download HytaleServer.jar and Assets.zip yourself with Hytale's own tool, signed in to a Hytale account, and put them in the server's folder; after the first start you sign the server in from its console. NodeMesh provides the Java the server needs. The Config tab covers the name, message of the day, password, player limit, view distance and game mode. Setting names can shift between Early Access builds, so if one does not match your server's own config file, trust the file.

What is free

One host — your own PC — is free with no time limit, for up to 5 game servers: the web panel and console, the config editor, the mod manager, auto-restart on crash and the traffic relay. Extra hosts cost credits.

Beta: you can create this server today, but we have not run it on our own hardware yet. Expect rough edges, and tell us what you find.

Questions

Do I need to buy anything for the server?

The server files come from Hytale's own tool and need an Early Access account. You run that tool yourself, so NodeMesh never sees your login. Your friends need the game to play.

Is the install one click?

Not fully. Because of the sign-in, you download the two server files yourself and place them in the server folder. NodeMesh does the rest.

Does it run on Windows?

Not yet. The Hytale server in NodeMesh needs a Linux host, as the requirements above show.

Will my settings keep working while Early Access changes?

Maybe not. Hytale is in Early Access and its config keys can change between builds. If a setting in the Config tab does not match your server's own config.json, trust your file, and back up your world before changing settings.

Is it really free?

Yes, for one host. Running game servers on your own PC is free with no time limit — up to 5 servers, traffic relay included. You only pay, in credits, if you add more hosts.
